Intimacy in Your Life
Love
truly is a many splendoured thing. That's why it is so important
to feed that flame by creating an intimate space for relationship
to grow and expand. Because if it isn't growing and expanding,
then it's only a matter of time before you lose interest in it.
It
was over 25 years ago, that I became involved in a small Yoga
community here in Los Angeles. As a successful model, actress
and business woman, I still suffered from not enough time devoted
to my own needs for replentishing. Yoga answered that for me and
I continue its practice two or three times a week to keep myself
in peak physical condition.
Through
my years of practicing Yoga, I've noticed that I enjoy an unusual
"6th sense" in terms of my emotions and my body. I am able to
see a direct correlation between the state of my body, and the
state of my feelings. Yoga acts like a balancing mechanism for
my life, bringing clarity and wholeness to my relationships, my
businesses, as well as my sex life!
So
it was a very special day in the late 1980's when I met Robert
Frey and was introduced to the Tantric form of Yoga. Tantra is
the form considered by most to be a sexual form of Yoga - and
there are practitioners of Tantra which do focus on the sexual
act. But what really touched me, and continues to touch me, is
the sensual nature of Tantra - where connecting and feeling is
an essense of its own. That is what I've always felt would be
a gift to the world, and that is why Robert and I started thinking
about a video series to bring this teaching to the world.
Let's
face it... There are many people in the world, friends, partners
and aquaintances, who have lost touch with their feelings, or
been so stressed out that they are incapable of reaching out.
Wouldn't it be an extraordinary gift for them to re-awaken that
part of them that is the loving, sensitive person inside? Wouldn't
that be an extraordinary outcome?
I
just wanted to share a few of my thoughts with you about this,
hoping that they are helpful to your own personal process.
Yours
truly,
Toni
Why Partner
Play?
After
actively counseling couples and teaching yoga for many years,
Toni and I noticed that, even in the presence of plenty of love,
many people still had difficulty in connecting with each other.
Naturally, this caught our attention, and in looking closely and
asking questions of our new clients, we discovered that many of
these wonderful people simply didn't have the knowledge or experience
to get beyond their hesitancy or resistance.
Fortunately,
for us and for them, Toni and I have a significant amount of training
which expanded our choices and gave both of us many different
ways to connect with partners that we cared for. Over the years,
we've uncovered ancient and modern techniques that naturally,
and easily, enhance intimacy and connection. To put it quite simply,
certain things just work, and they work reliably! These methods
can consistently take partners into states of deeper, more enjoyable
connection. In particular, both of us have found that certain
ancient Tantra and yoga partner practices are very effective --
they just work, and vitually everyone can enjoy some version of
them.
The
techniques revealed in Partner Play focus on non-verbal, tactile
interaction that is not based on thinking or analyzing. This helps
people get out of efforting or judging themselves or their partner.
Really enjoyable intimacy is best without much thinking or talking
-- letting it become more flowing, natural, and easy.
Of
course, this can be complemented with minimal, yet loving verbal
communication, which doesn't require much serious thinking, and
thus isn't distracting. Such an undistracted approach also helps
partners stay in the present-moment, a feature vital to heartful
and intimate connection.
This
present-moment approach naturally opens up the possibility of
spontaneous play and creative interaction. We think you'll agree
that sharing life in the present is so much more enjoyable than
regreting the past or worrying about the future!
We
recommend that viewers of the Partner Play videos first learn
the basic routine and style, then open themselves to improvising,
shortening or lengthening, and adapting the routine to their needs
- how much time you have, how your bodies feel, where you follow
your heart to pause and savor what's happening between you.
Partner
Play was designed to teach basic principals, which are fun and
quick to learn. Once you have followed the instructional video
several times, Partner Play will become second nature, and wonderful
levels of connection and intimacy will unfold for you and your
partner. We are so happy to be able to provide a tool for creating
more loving in your life!
Enjoy!
Yours
truly,
Robert
