A New Medium for Interactive Storytelling

PartnerPlay is the first product from Left Right Studios Inc.

Our core innovation opens the door to an entirely medium with limitless applications: entertainment, gaming, dancing, therapy, education, training etc.

For example, Disney could build interactive Marvel episodic fiction where teenagers can role-play scenes from a movie. Or two people trying to learn Spanish can be led through a practice conversation with each other. Or a couple could learn dancing: as one person takes a step forward, the other is directed to take a step back. We help people live out content through interactive audio.

This product isn’t about spending more time glued to your phone. Rather than distract and isolating us from one another, this is a rare opportunity to use technology to connect in real life. It’s about connecting more deeply to the world around you and the people you care about.

It’s about augmenting reality.

PartnerPlay is the future of digital intimacy.

The first vertical we’ll focus on is intimacy. We believe there's a billion dollar industry to be built making digital content for the bedroom and more broadly, content that strengthens relationships.

PartnerPlay sells premium interactive audio experiences for couples, cleverly taking advantage of the unique form factor of AirPods: the left and right AirPods are split between you and your partner, and you're each fed different yet synchronized instructions.

Together you’re guided through tantalizing adventures where neither of you knows what's coming next.

These experiences deepen your emotional and physical connection, building trust through a range of audio adventures that span the spectrum of human intimacy: kissing, touching, massage, sex and more.

PartnerPlay empowers you to explore your pleasure, expand your comfort zone, and live out your fantasies together.

PartnerPlay will be the world's most accessible sex toy because the barrier to explore is so low (“it's just an app”) and the most discreet too (no embarrassing special hardware required), with content possibilities as limitless as the human sexual imagination.

Just like '50 Shades of Grey,' PartnerPlay will bring the risqué into the mainstream. We’ll tap into the massive market of erotica which is one of Audible.com’s largest categories and more than a quarter of their business.

We invite you to slow down and enjoy each other. We invite you...to play.

Who is the primary PartnerPlay buyer?

Women.

Based on dozens of conversations, we believe women will be the primary purchaser. Women tend to be turned on by fantasy and imagination, and descriptions such as “Interactive fiction for the bedroom” and “guided bedroom roleplay” hit a sweet spot.

Although PartnerPlay works for all couples, one huge market worth mentioning is couples in decade-long relationships. These couples are often looking to add variety to the bedroom, and they get especially excited when we describe the product.

We believe the cadence of usage will be roughly weekly, and we plan to cater to that with our messaging and product design (“new episodes every friday, just in time for date night!”).

We believe word-of-mouth and press will initially drive growth of the product as customers privately recommend it to their friends. Later on, paid acquisition will be an important channel.

Use of Funds

PartnerPlay is a hybrid technology + content company. The core of the product are meticulously crafted audio experiences. If a single aspect is off — writing, voice talent, acting, pace, instructions, partner choreography, sound effects, musical scoring — the experience falls down.

Funds will be used to hire the world’s best audio producers, writers, and story tellers to create cinematic level content. Our team will consist of top talent from the fiction podcast and radio world who have built experiences like Marvel's Wolverine Podcast and A World Where.

Pricing and Production

A recurring monthly subscription at ~$20 per month gives unlimited access to the PartnerPlay episode library, on par with the cost of a movie ticket for two.

Therefore 2000 subscribers would generate $40,000 of monthly revenue, which would cover salaries for a team of four and achieve profitability.

We believe that a team of four should be able to produce an episode per week at a cost of $10,000 to make.

Approximate Launch Timing

We’ll officially launch in early 2019.

Before then, we’ll continue to soft-launch experiences to friends, family, and redditors. This process of prototyping, testing experiences on real world couples, and soliciting feedback is INCREDIBLY valuable in helping build the “right” product.

For our official launch we’d like to have 6 half-hour long episodes, each with support for both mixed-gender and same-gender couples.

We expect once the initial team is hired, at least two more months of training/experimentation will be needed, plus two months of production work, which lands us in early 2019.

Terms of Investment

Raising 500k-1mm as a convertible note, $10mm cap, angels only (no funds).

We hope to use these funds to get profitable quickly and control our own destiny rather than build a company reliant on regular infusions of venture capital.

The paid content model lets us generate revenue from day one, and we believe focusing on profit and reinvesting that profit is the responsible way to grow this business.
